Museum of the Moon: 18th Century Concert Orchestra
Wednesday 13th November 2019, 7:00pm All Tickets £19.75
Birkenhead Town Hall, Hamilton Street, Birkenhead, CH41 5BR
Duration of performance - just under 2 hours including interval.
Sit back and relax to one of the finest examples of baroque music in the country under the blissful Museum of The Moon at Birkenhead Town Hall.
Renowned astrophysicist Dr Andy Newsam presents an exciting and entertaining evening in the company of the 18th Century Concert Orchestra giving a dramatised history of the life, compositions and discoveries of the Father of Modern Astronomy, William Herschel.
Herschel’s discovery of Uranus and his subsequent life, with the collaboration of his sister Caroline - one of the first, and unsung, heroines of early science and space exploration - was probably the real beginning of astronomy as we know it.
The 18th Century Concert Orchestra is unique in its use of costume and period instruments and, along with Dr Andy Newsam’s erudite script, will present the fascinating story of William Herschel which would be so very stimulating performed under ‘The Museum of the Moon’.
